Twitter may have emerged later than Facebook in the market, but the former is certainly making no fewer waves than the former. Twitter is now widely subscribed by millions of users plying its platform daily with more modern businesses checking out the platform’s social media marketing features that could benefit their bottom lines through more traffic and sales.

It is not surprising that Twitter marketing is fast becoming a social and marketing phenomenon today with myriads of benefits to most online home-based business ventures.

Emergence of Twitter

The original conception of Twitter back at the start of the 21st century was to provide a simple, precise 140-character message in an SMS format for fast communication. Its fast reception by the consumer market made Twitter a worldwide phenomenon that is of unlimited worth today. Creative marketers and entrepreneurs have discovered other interesting uses on Twitter to benefit their online businesses such as online marketing to boost business outcomes.

When Twitter is manipulated creatively by innovative marketers, the tweets are subtle marketing messages promoting a certain brand or business. Hence, tweets are often manipulated to promote the brand or business in the form of subtle adverts behind the words.

The limited number of characters on tweets would prove sufficient to deliver a precise and exciting promo message to fans and followers if the content is well designed to be effective and clear. The growing number of Twitter fans and followers is more than sufficient to promote any brand or business product and service effectively to benefit the entrepreneur or marketer.

Dynamic Marketing Approaches

Greater Twitter marketing strategies could be developed and implemented with a clear overview of what is currently available in the market. The Internet proves to be a most powerful platform in promoting the use of Twitter marketing on other platforms or avenues such as Facebook or Google.

Marketers with a Facebook account could easily integrate Twitter to showcase or promote their business brand and offerings. It is simple to generate promo tweets which are subtle or direct to be posted or linked to the marketer’s Facebook home page. Hence, it is simple for the marketer to advertise all business sites and product offerings on these dynamic and effective social media networks using one click. Such an effective online marketing concept could be duplicated on other social networking sites besides Facebook to gain better results with Twitter.

Besides that, Twitter is very powerful as a new marketing tool with its many followers. If every follower could be converted into a business customer, the marketer would secure a steady stream of potential leads to boost the business with their support towards the brand and offerings. However, usually very few followers would be interested to participate in the business offerings on an active level unless there are value-added attractions for them.

The tweet presentation must be alluring with value added content that tempts the follower to want more; the content must contain a message which no follower could afford to refuse or decline. Twitter marketers must apply creative elements and dynamic marketing techniques that are bound to attract followers and compel them to become customers. Exciting and compelling tweets could cause Twitter marketing to go viral across the web which benefits the brand and business. A stronger market presence would be established with an enlarged market perimeter and more followers.

Available Twitter Marketing Tools and Tips

Twitter marketers who indulge in online home-based business ventures such as affiliate programs would want to pick up better useful Twitter marketing tools and tips for a more effective marketing campaign that would bring on higher rewards. It is crucial for online business entrepreneurs or marketers to identify the right target audience on Twitter that would follow them loyally.

But the marketer would also need to follow certain Twitter individuals to be seen and heard on the platform as well as the web. Business gurus or local authorities related to the industry would be great choices for the marketer to be a fan or follower in learning the best Twitter marketing tips and tricks.

Being around the right kinds of company on Twitter provides marketers the best of platforms to build up their online social presence and reputation, especially if these Twitter marketers seize every business opportunity in promoting themselves aptly before the right audience.

Many Twitter marketing tips and tricks could be readily picked up by being with the right company as different individuals offer different skills and insights to build or grow an online business.

Fast delivery of information is possible with Twitter as short tweets are sent out quickly within minutes across the world. The latest news of anyone or anything could be received instantly to enjoy a strong edge over competitors. Twitter marketers would need to stay alert to the market trends and consumer changes, especially in their industry to provide the latest information on their tweets. When they become the first providers of the latest market information to their fans or followers, they would gain higher market credibility with more fans and followers who want the latest updates in business, life, economy and politics.

Creative marketing strategies via Twitter marketing would land more traffic on the marketer’s web business site which reinforces Twitter as a modern marketing phenomenon. A simple survey using the 140 characters is sufficient to guide the online business venture on the right path in marketing strategy or product development without wasting a lot of money in long and tedious research.

Twitter surveys could be conducted using the special survey software that sends out tweet questions for appropriate customer responses. The offer of free e-books and downloadable reports would entice more responses from potential leads. This would also mean that market research is executed for free in quick time to help boost the brand presence in the market.

Twitter marketing is very cost effective and powerful to win more traffic to the web business site when the marketing potential of this social media platform is correctly understood and applied.

Dynamic marketing solutions and tools via tweets are possible to boost the business branding and bottom lines.

Twitter mistakes you should avoid

With over 500 million users and gaining rapidly with each passing day… should an online marketer ignore the power of Twitter marketing? The correct answer is no. Twitter has become a real force to be reckoned with. Even though they have not surpassed the use of Google or Facebook, but people are seeing a more effective response from their prospects when they engage their prospects via Twitter. What this means is that you need to be using Twitter to strengthen your social marketing strategies as well.

However, using Twitter to improve and grow your business isn’t so straight forward. There are many unspoken rules that you should know and you need to understand the psychology involved when you engage your followers. Nevertheless, below are some of the common mistakes that you should avoid when using Twitter as part of your business strategy.

Tweeting about your business in every tweet.

One of the biggest mistakes that anyone could commit when using twitter to promote their business and build a following is to include your business in your every tweet. There’s no need to plug a link or your business into every single one of your tweets. In fact if you are doing so, you need to stop it right now. It does not look natural to the followers and people will feel as if you are trying too hard. You need to sit back relax and enjoy life a little. Show your followers that you are not a robot and show them that you are human. It’s ok to talk about something entirely irrelevant on your business sometimes. Tweet some jokes and your personality once in a while and you will see just how fast people will respond to your tweets.

If every time your tweet is about your business, you will be labeled as lame, and boring. What happens next needs no explanation. Your followers will leave you one after another and you will have a hard time trying to retain your followers. A good Twitter user will have a mix of professionalism, wisdom and also personal seasoning in their tweets. Keep your tweets short at times and put up some lengthy tweets at times. Don’t be a twitter user that is easily predictable. Be unpredictable and stay mysterious and you will see the magic working well in favor of you and your business.

Not tweeting regularly enough.

When you decide to use Twitter to promote your business, you should be committed to a regular tweeting schedule. Be sure to set a minimum amount of tweets per day to keep the conversation and updates coming. If you rarely tweet, your followers will not grow as fast and you won’t be able to get your tweet out in a viral manner. The more regularly you tweet the more chance people will get to know you and the more they will retweet your tweets if your tweets are of value.

Taking up the responsibility of tweeting is like taking up the responsibility to build a relationship with your followers. You need to get your voice heard regularly and consistently for them to remember you and learn more about you. If people like you, your attitude and your tweets then you are building strong brand awareness and more people will do business with you. You cannot expect to build a strong relationship with your followers if you hardly ever contact them or express yourself towards them. In their eyes, you are but a total stranger to them. This is why you should use twitter to communicate with your prospects and followers because in the past, where there is no twitter, people view a business as a business and nothing more. But today with the power of twitter, you can get people to view your business as a friendship and this can help you build a sense of loyalty unlike anything we’ve ever seen in the history of marketing before.

Using an automated response.

This is considered as a mistake because the real purpose of using Twitter is to close the gap that exists between a client and your business. You are trying to make friends by getting close to them and trying to get people to become a friend to your business. However, using an automated message defeats this purpose. It tells your followers that you are lazy and not willing to engage them personally. Social media should never be misinterpreted as an easy way out to build relationships. You need to pave a way between your followers and your business and the only way to do that is to apply personal care and genuinely good intention that will melt the hearts of your followers.

Asking for a retweets every single time.

Some marketers will urge you to ask for a retweets on your every tweet. While this might sound logical to some, it is not a good thing to do. People retweets your posts for a reason. And most of the time, that reason would be that they feel your tweet is worth sharing. So instead of asking people to retweet your tweets in your every tweet, you should choose your tweets wisely. Make sure you ask for retweets only if your tweets are important and that it will make an impact in the life of others.

This will encourage your followers to retweet your tweets because they understand how worthy your tweets are. People will listen to you instead of ignoring you for being a robot. You need to be very smart when you are tweeting and you need to think in the shoes of your followers. Do the right things and do the things that you want others to do for you as well. This mutual respect is what your business needs in the relationship building with your followers. In fact if your tweets are really that worth and great of a retweets, you will find that people will retweet your tweets without needing to be asked anyway. Hence focus on the right things on your tweets and you should be able to grow your followers and your business towards success.

Actually this an experiment in adding current Twitter News into our blog.

From the beginning, most folks mistook Twitter for a site that was setup to be a rival to some of the already established and existing social networking platforms. Although many welcomed the idea of a social networking service that would stand as a rival to Facebook and MySpace, their expectations did tumble because Twitter later turned out as an entirely new and fresh idea.

Twitter is a website that is operated and run by Twitter Inc. The site offers a platform that provides its users with social networking and micro blogging services. Twitter was launched in the year 2006 and it was established with the sole aim of providing its user with a platform where they can have that social experience that they so desire.

With Twitter, registered members can communicate and connect with other registered members by sending out short messages that are known as tweets. Tweets are short messages of about 140 characters that are displayed on a users profile page. The visibility of these messages is made public by default. However, a user can alter his or her setting to make the message visible only to those who his is connected with (his followers).

Twitter connects people by allowing them to have followers and people who they follow. A user can connect with other users by following them or by getting them to follow him. A follower and his followers can relate with each other by communicating through tweets and private messages. Although Twitter was deployed on a web interface, the services that it provides can be accessed through computers and mobile devices like PDAs and mobile phones.

Twitter uses a web interface that is clean fresh and stunning and the site has reinvented its logo, designs and interface several times to meet with the demand of its users. Like most other social networking platforms, Twitter has a developers section that is dedicated to developers who might want to develop apps that will run on the Twitter platform.

Although Twitter has been able to provide its users with a social networking platform where they can connect, socialize, and get that social experience that they desire, the site has failed in protecting the privacy of its users. For instance, Twitter does share the private information of its users with third parties. In terms of security, most users of Twitter are at risk of having their personal information compromised and their identity stolen since their telephone details in visible to their followers who could be social engineers and hackers.

Twitter is one of the fastest growing Social Media platforms!

Twitter is known by many, as a place where you can go and send out 140 character messages, better known as ‘tweets’, that tell people what you are doing, at that particular moment. Prospects like to get to know WHO they are buying from, before they turn into a buyer.

Use some personal tweets (see our tweet suggestions) and keep a balance of business related material tweets, and vice versa. So you can use Twitter to build awareness about you and your company.

PROBLEM: Most people don’t use Twitter correctly!

That’s where this Twitter video series comes in. Not only will you learn a system that uses Twitter, and other free third party sites, to get your sites ranked high in Google, but you’ll also learn how to increase your credibility among your twitter followers, by using a simple legal technique.

Whether you are an online or offline business owner, as long as you have a website or landing page, this is a MUST have in your marketing toolbox: Twitter Business Magic!

There are two ways to approach Twitter from an Internet marketing standpoint. You can either try to figure out how to really get involved and to parlay that into improved business or you can try to find the shortcuts and secrets that will dump a pile of cash in your lap overnight.

Here’s the scoop. The people trying for a quick score aren’t making money.

The only way to really use Twitter to your advantage is to use it the “right” way. You need to be a real user an a legitimate member of your (and others’) social networks. You need to contribute and you need to interact. If you’re there looking for a quick buck, everyone will smell you coming from a mile away and they’ll lock down their wallets before you get near.

Let’s say it again to make it clear: Real users make more money with Twitter.

That’s ugly news for the get-rich-quick crowd, but it’s great news for marketers with enough perspective and understanding to recognize a good thing when it’s staring them in the eyes.

Have you figured out how you can really use Twitter? Do you understand how that usage can lead to real business improvements? If you still have questions, you need to learn more about Twitter. Otherwise, you’re wasting your time. Look for the resources available on this page.

Most people soon realize that they can increase their follower numbers dramatically by aggressively promoting your Twitter URL online. Email signatures, forum signatures, badges on blogs, and a variety of other methods can help increase the size of one’s fan base.

Now that Twitter is getting so big, there’s another way to increase attention. It may be time for you to start promoting your Twitter URL offline, too.

Put it on your letterhead. Stick it on your business cards. Is your company handing out brochures, running Yellow Pages advertising, putting a display ad in the newspaper? Put that Twitter URL right there for everyone to see.

When Twitter was smaller, it didn’t seem like it could make much a difference to engage in offline promotion. Now that the user base has grown to such monumental proportions, it’s time to pull the trigger on offline promotion.

These techniques have a proven record of success with other URLs and should transfer nicely to promoting your Twitter presence.

You want to maximize your follower base, right? Start spreading the word online… And on the street.

Twitter creator Jack Dorsey unveiled a hot new venture today.

Jack Dorsey, The Twitter creator, gave the first public demonstration of his hotly-anticipated latest venture — a device to allow credit card payments by cell phone — and also revealed that it would be given away for free.

Rumors have been circulating on the Internet since it was announced earlier this month, but little has been known about how it works or who it was aimed at.

More details of “Square” — a card reader which plugs into the headphone socket of most mobile devices — were revealed.

Square, a tiny cube about an inch in length, contains a magnetic strip reader that allows users to swipe and read credit cards, then deduct payment on or offline through a downloaded application that communicates with card issuers in the same way as retailer devices. Customers use their finger on the phone’s touch-recognition screen to sign their name to the transaction.

Twitter makes a Big Splash

For only being a single website it sure has made a splash. Although it shares some of the same ideas as Facebook or MySpace and Blogger its incredible ease of use coupled with its limit of one hundred and forty character micro posts this user generated website is breaking all kinds of records. Twitter has also been making a lot of news so if you haven’t been keeping up here is what you have been missing.

Due to Twitter allowing third party users to create applications to complement the websites experience for its user’s big names have gotten on the band wagon. It may be old news that people have been tweeting from their iphones and Blackberry but things may really start to get out of hand with Twitter if “Twiiter” (that’s with to letter “I’s”) the Wii game console based “Twitter like” application becomes integrated with the actual Twitter web site. You can see how far they have actually come by visiting the Twiiter web site at .

When we see more people Tweeting from their living room after losing a game of Wii golf we may see more news like the kind we heard in early April when Demi Moore popularity on Twitter was credited saving the life of a suicidal women who tweeted “I’m just wondering if anyone cares that I’m gonna kill myself now” which may have gone unnoticed if it was not for Demi’s reply “Hope you are joking.” Due to Demi’s huge following on Twitter it was noticed and several people looked at the profile of the suicidal woman and finding her address they contacted the authorities in San Jose her home town and police immediately came in and took her to the hospital for evaluation.

With all that outpouring of cyber help it makes one wonder if or when something goes wrong with the space shuttle instead of relying on NASA to solve all of the problem maybe soon the Twitter community will be better equipped unless they are distracted by playing the new game, “Dead Space Extraction” for Wii due to be unleashed on the public this fall.

If you would like to follow what is really going on roughly 375 miles, or 600 kilometers above our heads you’ll want to follow New York astronaut Mike Massimo who will be working on the real Hubble telescope. You can follow Mr. Massimo on Twitter at as he prepares for takeoff. Mike also plans to be tweeting from outer space during his mission periodically.

Let’s hope there are just no Tweets on reentry like the ones that shocked the world from Mike Wilson aka when his plane made an unscheduled landing on the Hudson river early this year.

Mike arguably became the first person in history to serve as several national news agencies “credible news source” by texting tweets from his cell phone from the crash site before and while rescue attempts were still in progress. Turning Twitter not only something not only something news agencies talk about but also a place people are turning to get News first.

Multimedia files (audio, video, pictures) can be a great way to get people to come to your website.
You can use Twitter to get people to look at or listen to the multimedia files you have created. After you read this article you will know of 3 ways that you can use Twitter to promote your multimedia creations.

1. You can use Twitter to promote your videos.
Many people use YouTube as a way to share their video files. It’s great that you’ve created a useful video and put it up on YouTube, but how are you going to get people to actually watch the video? Well it’s pretty simple. Just get in the habit of posting a tweet to your followers every time you post a new video to your YouTube channel. You can do the same thing if you use sites other than YouTube to host your video. Another strategy would be to tell your Twitter followers about the video before you create the video. This creates anticipation in the minds of your Twitter followers. They’ll be looking forward to your video and be more likely to watch the video. One other thing…Don’t make the video too long. People on Twitter have very short attentions spans. Many tweeps don’t like to be away from the tweet stream very long because they are afraid they’ll miss something. Your video should be no longer than 5 minutes. Besides, if you try to go longer than that, you might make a mistake and have to redo the video.

2. Got a podcast? Great!
After you’ve taken the time to create useful content, you want people to actually listen to your podcast, right? A great way to that is to just post a tweet to your followers when you’re about to record the podcast and then another tweet when the podcast is ready for them to download it. Another way to get traffic to your podcast is to interview someone that is really popular on Twitter. When you’re looking for someone to interview, don’t just look at the number of followers that person has. Be sure to pay attention to the number of people that person is following back. Look at how often that person engages with their Twitter family. It will do you no good to interview someone that doesn’t talk to their Twitter posse. Once you’ve interviewed this person do the same thing you do with your other podcast episodes. Let everyone know it’s available!

3. Got photos? Use twitpic!
Twitpic is an awesome way to share your photos with your Twitter posse. If your Twitter friend is in the picture be sure to tag them in the picture. This way they’ll be sure to look at the picture. They might even retweet it for their followers to see!

Using video and audio can dramatically increase the number of visitors to your site and the number of people that sign up to your newsletter list. Be sure that you sprinkle in enough personal messages in between sharing your multimedia files so people won’t label you a spammer. That is one label we can do without.
