Thanks for reminding me to double check my profiles to be sure I am using keywords I want to be found on. Also appreciated the indexing discussion. No juice, but Google does follow.

This is good information to share and I am glad because I was not aware of it. Just shows how popular this site has become and is only getting better. Thanks.

Yes, I have been noticing the same thing lately. I use Google alerts to get notified when anything with certain keywords get indexed and have had several tweets show up in Google.

Really surprised me when I first saw it happen. Definitely wasn't expecting Google to pick up on tweets.

Thanks,

Great tips. I wasn't aware that Twitter was a part of SEO. Will change my Bio to reflect an opt-in page. Hopefully that will help to get more of my followers onto my list. Thanks for these tips.

As Joel said above, Google DOES index your tweets. You don't gain any 'link love' from those tweets because Twitter uses the 'nofollow' tag, so don't be upset if Twitter substitutes one of the shortened URLs in place of your direct link. The value is in people clicking from Google to your tweet, and from there through to your site or affiliate link.

Great tips! One thing I wanted to add was that your Twitter posts/tweets can sometimes get ranked and indexed itself in Google, not just your main profile page.

Each tweet has it's own URL, which makes it very good for SEO purposes, since Google likes Twitter anyways.
